Possibilities of dispatch

Execution of local mailings:

To send an Express Mail mailing it is necessary to fill in two copies of the EKS form. If the number of mailings is over four units then a list KR1 should be enclosed.

Types of sending express mailings available for clients:

• If an agreement is not entered into and no advance payment is made:
  • A customer calls a courier or delivers mailing to the nearest post office or an Express Mail department (10 Ziemeļu street, Lidosta "Rīga", Mārupes district, LV-1000) and pays for dispatch in cash under Express Mail tariffs.
• If an agreement is not entered into and no advance payment is made, but a large number of mailings is planned to be delivered (actions, greetings, etc.)
  • A customer agrees with Latvian Post on payment against delivery (phone 67608248), as well as on other additional terms (time of arrival of a courier etc.), and sends a letter of guarantee on payment of mailings. After mailing’s dispatch there will be drawn up an invoice and sent to the customer on express mail services
• If a client cannot or doesn’t want to enter into an agreement, but wants to send express mailing and doesn’t know what to do
  • A customer can call via phone 67608248 and Express Mail employees will offer the best solution

Notice: An addressee will receive a mailing the next day (delivered by a courier). If the mailing weigh is till 1 kg, mailing can be delivered by a postman.

Terms of sending of international EMS mailings

EMS mailings’ packing and content
International EMS mailings are accepted under Post terms. All terms on international post mailings packing and addressing are applied to these mailings, as well as prohibitions with respect to the content. Detail information on a specific state’s prohibitions is available at post offices or via phone 67008001, 27008001.

When sending EMS mailings the packing must secure preservation of the mailing’s content during transportation. The package must not damage other post mailings or physically traumatize post office employees. Special free envelopes made from thick cardboard are designed for mailings containing only documents, securing paper documents from damages.

In EMS packages there can be dispatched industrial, household, culture items and food that are not prohibited to import to the state of delivery and that are allowed to export from the Republic of Latvia.

EMS mailings don’t subject to insurance and total value of content thereof (to be indicated by a consignor in the Customs Declaration) must not exceed – for documents - 24 LVL, with goods - 80 LVL.
